PLU's 156-acre campus badly needed an environmental refresh to reflect their new branding. I was responsible for creating over 50 designs for the various banners and signage.

Pacific Lutheran University is often hailed as one of the prettiest campuses in Washington State. My goal was to incorporate the story of the rebrand across the entire space, so it could easily be read and understood (whether it was by car, bike, or foot traffic.)

PLU was also looking to have a long-lasting design. The banners don’t get replaced for 4-6 years (when the wear and tear on the canvas starts to show.) The design needed to be evergreen, and not tied to a date, anniversary, or particular trendy design style.

In addition to 44 outer campus rectangular banners, I also created 13 inner campus triangular banners, as well as special banners for athletic events.

If you are ever on campus, be sure to wander around and check out my work. The banners are so popular they occasionally go missing!
